The season lasted for 12 episodes and went off the TV in March 2017. Since then, there were no signs or news about season 2. However, when the movie sequel was released on 8th February 2019, it created hope in every fan that they might witness a season 2 soon. Keeping the hopes of fans alive, the creators have decided to release a season now in 2021. Anyhow there is no official announcement yet.
The Storyline
The storyline of the show is unique and different from what we see in general Hollywood movies. We as a viewer are habitual of watching the protagonist as a hero who protects everyone. Contrary to popular opinion, the show revolves around the evil protagonist. That is the uniqueness of the show. Season one with 12 episodes was filled with ultimate thrill and excitement, and season 2 is also expected to be the same.
The Plot
Youju Senki, also known as the Saga of Tanya the Evil, shows the life of a boy who is an atheist. He neither believes in the presence of God nor in the immortality of the soul. So, he does all the possible bad deeds, hurts people, and never thought of the consequences. Denying the presence of God in his whole life, he meets someone in his afterlife who claims himself to be the God. The boy who was still in denial is punished and is now reborn as a young girl called Tanya. That is where season 2 is expected to start at.
Youju Senki Season 2
Being born as a female called Tanya Degurechaff, the story continues. In season 2, it is expected that Tanya will fight Mary Sioux, and Mary would lose everything in the war because of Tanya. Also, as per the perception, Tanya must have a natural death, or else she will have to face hell where she will be punished for her past actions. To avoid hell, Tanya enters the Division of Mages (Military Service). She works hard to achieve the highest rank in the military table. When she achieves the same, she becomes rude and ignorant. This one rude and ignorant girl fights every obstacle in her path and overcomes stones. She also punishes her submissive, who disobeys her in any way. Due to her behavior, she got herself a nickname –”The Devil of Rhine”.
The Cast
The cast of the show is going to be as Aoi Yuuki as Tanya Degurechaff, Saori Hayami as Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov, Shinichiro Miki as Erich von Rerugen, Houchou Ootsuka as Hans von Zettour, Tessyo Genda as Kurt von Rudersdorf. The show’s direction will be under Yutaka Uemura, and the production will be done under multiple producers, including Norifumi Kikujima, Noritomo Isogai, and Takuya Tsunoki. The show this time is also going to be produced under the banner of NUT Studio, which earlier was done by Crunchyroll and Kenta Ihara.
The Viewers Aspect
The show has gained the most popular Japanese Anime show title by its fans as it has a huge fan base. The huge fan base is the reason why creators have decided to create season 2 because of the popular demand. The novel series is already the reader’s favorite, and season1 has an IMDb rating of 7.7 out of 10 only because of its fans.
Release of Season 2
The creators have not yet made any official announcement regarding the release date. Yet, it is expected to be late this year. So, all of you, get ready for a power-packed season 2 with the most thrilling plot and a finale that you are not expecting.
